On 7 November 2018, the PRA published a notice for EEA firms looking to make notifications under the temporary permission, followed by a similar notice issued by the FCA issued two days subsequent.

To obtain deemed permission or variation under the Temporary Permissions Regime, firms need to either notify the regulator or make a Part 4A authorisation application (or variation of an existing “top-up permission”).

The regulators indicated the window for notification would be open from 9am on 7 January 2019 until 28 March 2019. All applications would be made through the Connect system.

More detail can be found about the temporary permissions regime here, the FCA’s consultation on the temporary permissions regime here, and the PRA’s approach to Brexit here.
